Who I am
I am a PhD student in Industrial Engineering with a passion for hands-on laboratory research, particularly in renewable energies. I’m fascinated by all forms of energy conversion and enjoy building and characterising devices that transform energy from one type to another. My main focus is solar energy, spanning from solar-thermal absorbers to photovoltaic and hybrid systems, but I also have a deep interest in thermoelectricity and solid-state heat pumps.
Recently, I completed a research exchange at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where I worked on the fabrication and characterisation of perovskite solar cells. I love travelling and engaging with researchers from around the world—these experiences broaden my perspective and fuel my curiosity.
Outside the lab, I’m a supporter of Ferrari and Ducati, with a passion for sailing, recreational boating, and long hikes in nature.
My current research activity focuses on the design and development of systems that exploit high vacuum thermal insulation, with the aim of improving their efficiency and reducing energy consumption.
