Who I am
Antonio Abate is a prominent figure in the field of solar energy. He serves as the Director of the “Novel Materials and Interfaces for Photovoltaic Solar Cells” department at Helmholtz-Centrum Berlin and holds a professorship at the University of Naples Federico II. His research focuses on the innovative area of solar energy conversion using halide perovskites.
Prof. Abate has a distinguished academic background, having earned a summa cum laude PhD from Politecnico di Milano. He was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship at EPFL, where he worked under the mentorship of Prof. Grätzel. Additionally, he has conducted postdoctoral research at prestigious institutions, including the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, where he has collaborated with leading experts in the field.
Since 2018, Clarivate Analytics has recognised Prof. Abate as a Highly Cited Researcher, placing him in the top 1% of the most cited scientists in the world.
